Province of South Holland Continues Collaboration with Technolution
Last week, Carla Weber, Director of Execution at the Province of South Holland, Hermen Borst, Director of Urban Planning at the Municipality of Rotterdam, Harry Koese, Director of Urban Management at the Municipality of The Hague, and Marcel Dukker, CCO of Technolution, signed the agreement for the delivery, implementation, further development, and maintenance of the next generation Network Management System (NMS).
With this joint NMS, the Province of South Holland, the Municipality of Rotterdam, and the Municipality of The Hague are strengthening their collaboration in the field of traffic management. This marks a significant and welcome step forward for a metropolitan region that includes two of the four largest cities in the Netherlands within the province. The NMS will also be made available to all municipalities and water authorities in South Holland, giving a new boost to network-wide traffic management.
The software of the new generation NMS will be delivered as a service (SaaS), allowing road authorities to focus entirely on effectively managing traffic. The service also includes assistance with the configuration and even the execution of traffic management (VMaaS).
Additionally, the provision of software and services will be further aligned with new laws and regulations concerning security, privacy, and government transparency. To ensure future-readiness, we will actively involve the MobiMaestro community in shaping the roadmap for the NMS and other MobiMaestro modules.
The service phase in South Holland will begin immediately after the system goes live and will continue until 2034, with an option for extension until 2041. After a successful go-live, the NMS-as-a-service will also become available to other MobiMaestro users and all other road authorities within and outside the Netherlands.
