Floortje’s story
Growth and development
“I applied for a job as a software development. During the interview, they said: we think you’d make a good project leader. I had no idea what that involved, but Technolution had obviously seen that I had the right qualities for this. I really started from scratch. But they gave me an experienced colleague as coach, as a mentor for professional growth. Learning by doing, that’s what I’m good at. And I’ve made a lot of progress over the last year and a half.”
Team and atmosphere
“The coaching and mentoring here are great. Doors are always open for everyone and everyone is ready to help out. The atmosphere is great, it’s almost like family. There’s a lot of mutual respect and people can be who they are. There’s also a culture of looking at you as a person. How can we help you become a better version of yourself? We help each other within the domains, for example, we have a project leaders’ guild, where all the project leaders share experiences and where we learn from each other.”
Technology
“Security in the technology sector is becoming more and more important. So our development team devised a vulnerability scan. We scan all tools and libraries for vulnerabilities and review these on a weekly basis: what’s the risk level and do we need to take action? In my projects, we use Rust, a language that is very safe. Of course I do try to keep up to speed on the technology, but leading a project is enough of challenge in its own right.”

Are you ready for progress?
Her project
“I began working on tunnel projects. First we had to establish a remote connection for management and maintenance, and then replace the hardware for the technical installation of the Gaasperdammertunnel. In my current project, we’re at the point where we’re transitioning from project to product, a phase that has its own challenges. I have a lot of ideas about this myself, but can always fall back on the knowledge and experience of colleagues who have been working on this longer.”
Impact on society
“The thing I enjoy most is that our projects are actually used in society. Secure solutions for government bodies. Traffic lights that go green at the right moment. Or paying for public transport using your bank card. Technolution treats its clients and society the same way it treats its staff. We look behind queries to find the underlying problem: what is ultimately the problem that has to be solved?”
